Welcome to East Lake

East Lake sits on the east side of Atlanta, just four miles from Downtown Atlanta. Its convenience to the business district is what draws new residents in, but neighborly love and robust golf courses is what makes them call East Lake home.

Like many neighborhoods within the perimeter, East Lake’s history includes vast farmland that was once a large plantation. One of Atlanta’s oldest standing structures, an antebellum home, sits in East Lake. Many homes in the neighborhood are restored bungalows and cottages, a home buyer will find several large historic homes and new construction. As one of the most historic locations in Atlanta many streets and homes have held on to its southern charm with lush trees and a large front porch. 

What makes East Lake a very competitive real estate market for a new buyer is its’ affordability. Home buyers will find single family homes priced between $300,000 and $700,000, while condominium and townhomes have an asking price around $450,000. East Lake real estate includes sprawling lavish lawns and larger home for a buyer. A special perk to home owners is the “Yard of the Month” award. East Lake is home to two well-known golf courses: East Lake Golf Club and Charlie Yates Golf Course. East Lake Golf Club best known for hosting the PGA’s annual Tour Championship. Home prices rise as one buys closer to the famous golf club. Residents also recommend new comers to visit the popular eatery Kimball House, and the local Farmers Market for fresh produce.

As a family oriented neighborhood, East Lake residents are dedicated to great schools serving the area. Atlanta Public Schools offer the following campuses: Lin Elementary and Ashford Park Elementary, Inman Middle School, Renfroe Middle School, Charles Drew Charter School, and Decatur High School.
